Resilient To Remain
Oh, my soul,
we will not bow,
even though we stand
on shaky knees.
Our spirit stands tall
within us.
We will defiantly hope
in the One who reached forth His hand
to us and freed us
from our bands of sin.
Oh, soul,
we cannot retreat,
though the trials and tests
beat upon what is already
torn and weak.
We will defiantly rely
on the words the Master has left.
We will desperately feast
and repeat His words of power
and promises to defeat.
Oh, soul,
don't waver now.
There is more for
this battered soul
to obtain and to witness,
if only we don't fall.
We will defiantly trust
in our decision to trust
our lives to the Divine One,
and that in Him
all of our treasures lie.
Oh, soul,
can't you see
what our survival means
if we don't fail?
We will become like He—
glorious in power,
glorious in beauty,
glorious in love.
Therefore, we defiantly
choose to remain.
Remain a child.
Remain a servant.
Remain a believer
in the One who is worthy
to suffer for.
And because He is worthy,
we remain resilient
to remain
by His side.
