The Wound He Entered

You were not repelled
by the wound of sin.

You were not afraid
to enter our darkness
on our behalf.

With a relentless heart
and a committed soul,

You chose to enter
the depths of darkness

to save us from ourselves
and from the eternal death
that awaited every lost soul.

How could You choose
to suffer for a people
so lost and undeserving?

What is this love
that would tread
through valleys of degradation
for the joy of salvation?

What do You see
when You look upon
the scars born
from Your battle with sin?

A body—

broken and battered,

taunted and scorned.

Yet Your scars
tell the story

of a love so deep,

a compassion so great,

that held You
upon that battered cross.

With every drop of blood spilled,

Your divine love
opened the way
for the healing of humanity.

Your wounds became
the evidence of love
that refused to turn away.

And because You willingly
entered the wound of sin,

You became the Light
for every living soul
who would receive You.

Now we become
living testaments
of Your sacrifice—

redeemed,

forgiven,

restored.

Living monuments
to the sacrificial
and abounding love of Christ.

Your wounds
have watered
the souls of the lost,

creating a garden
of lives made new.

And may this earthly garden
continue to grow

from the sacrifice
that began

with Your willingness
to enter,

to redeem,

and to reclaim
the wounded places
of humanity.

Thank You,
dear Lord,

for entering
our darkest wounds,

for bearing
the scars of love,

and for giving Your life
so that we might be free.

May our lives forever
bear witness

to the Love
that entered the wound
for us.
