The Evidence Of Grace

What have You withheld from me,

 Great Savior?

My soul pauses to wonder.

How have I become 

who I am today?

You took hold 

of a soul 

that was lost 

and in despair.

You cradled me

with love,

patience,

and truth-

quietly awakening

the beautiful transformation

of grace.

No longer a soul 

that seeks revenge

from a hardened heart.

No longer burdened

by an unrepentant spirit.

Oh, Great Savior,

what have You done?

What do You see 

when You look upon me,

If not

the evidence

of Your grace.

Grace has softened

my responses,

enlarged my heart,

and made me quicker to forgive.

Grace has released 

a river of hope

that now flows

through the depths 

of my soul.

Grace has enveloped me

with a peace 

like a gentle cloud,

covering me

and accompanying me

wherever I go.

Savior of my soul,

to You 

I owe my all.

Unto You,

my soul sings

with gratitude

for the countless gifts 

Your grace

has so faithfully given.

Thanks be unto You,

I am no longer

the same.

I have been touched.

And now,

I carry 

the evidence 

of grace.
